Finally! "Sandy's Fight" re-published! Also NaNoWriMo Update.

Hiya guys and dolls! Happy December!

I'm excited to finally write this blog post. I'm 99% sure that Sandy's Fight is now the correct manuscript, and has been re-edited by myself and another editor. Adventures in indie publishing, right? =D 

I'm also excited, because I was also able to get the manuscript and cover set and formatted for the paperback edition as well! Amazon is in the process of linking their pages so they appear together, but for the moment, they're both published and available, and that's exciting enough for me! =D

If you want to check them out, here are the links for the Kindle edition, and the paperback edition. I should have both editions up on Barnes and Noble, as well as Smashwords soon (more formatting for their specific sites = tedious and time-devouring work). 

Also, I wanted to post a quick update about NaNoWriMo for this year. I made it to about 20k words, a little less than half the goal. November is probably the absolute worst month to try and write the first draft of a book, second only to December. I think I need to get into the NaNo event in the Spring/Summer instead, I have oodles of time around then, usually.

It was a good effort at least, and I got the premise and beginning of the book started, and am excited so much for this one! It's a stand alone novel, that may turn into a series later, but we shall see. It's one I'm quite invested in personally, and is somewhat difficult to write, but should be a good experience. I'm keeping the details under wraps until it's closer to being finished, but I'm super excited!! =D

NaNoWriMo 2017

Hiya peeps! Hope your November is starting off awesome! I'm excited to share an update with you guys, cuz of course, I'm doing #NaNoWriMo 2017!!

I've actually come up with a possible title and synopsis already, although I'm not going to share those until I've got more of the book written, and know they will be fairly solid.

What I do have, is nearly 10K written so far! Whoop whoop!

It's shaping up to be a sci-fi adventure, which is a completely new genre for me, writing wise. I love to read them, but this should be an interesting experience, writing one. The flow so far is fantastic, and I'm loving where it's headed so far.

I hope you'll keep up with my writing adventure this month, and see if I can finish this bad boy! If I get my editor to finish it quickly enough, I may have another 2017 release.

Start of Camp NaNoWriMo!

Hiya guys! Happy April! Can you believe how fast 2017 is going? I can't! April is always my fun-month though, because my it's my birthday month! =D

I'm excited for this month for another reason though, as if birthday fun wasn't enough. It's also the first of the two Camp NaNo writing sprints! I'm super excited!

I'm going to shoot for getting this manuscript finished before the month ends, or at least most of the way done. Once I do that, I should have that published this Summer! Whoot!

Camp NaNoWriMo?

Hiya peeps! Happy Saturday! Hopefully you're having a wonderful weekend so far. =)

So, how many of you have heard of Camp NaNoWriMo? I hadn't until last November, with the better known NaNoWriMo competition. Apparently, the same group also hosts writing events in April and July, known as Camp NaNo! Being a fan of this type of event/group, I'm joining in this year.

It's basically the same thing as the November competition except you can set your own word count! They have it set as "anywhere from 30 to 999,999 words, hours, lines, or pages" for each writer. So if you don't want to write something as long as 50K words, you can set it shorter. If you want something longer, you can set the goal as high as you want, and write to your heart's content!

It's also cool, because they place you in "tents" with several other writers, and it forms a kind of short-term writers group! It's a neat idea, and it seems like it'll be fun.

Check it out - registration is still open, and it starts in April! If you want to do it in a few months, you can participate in the July event, with all the same perks!

I'm going to be working on the book I already started, and not actually enter it at the end, since it was started before hand. I've found though, that the short-term goals provided in the competition setting really help me focus, and get a book pumped out quicker.

So, I'm still working on that one I mentioned in my last post, and can't wait to see how it turns out! Hopefully I'll actually be able to get it done. O.O

New Novel!!

Hiya peeps!!

I'm so excited today! I know I have literally been silent for an entire month, but for good reason!

As most of you know, I participated in NaNoWriMo last month. I had several things challenge my writing time, such as a couple weeks of a few pets dying, which took their toll. Once I had composed myself from that, I had a week where I ended up getting sick, bad enough to keep me in bed. I'm not someone who can write/create well when I'm that sick, so I wasn't able to do much in that week. When I was better from that, it was Thanksgiving, and family time.

So really, I wrote this book in three and a half days. Less than four days!! I'm so friggin' proud of myself!!

I won NaNoWriMo (reached the 50K word goal), in less than four days, with more challenges than I would have thought possible. Booya, baby!

If there wasn't any other signs that I'm supposed to do this with my life, that is definitely one for me to hold onto.

Anyway, I'm back, and ready to publish this sucker!

At the moment, Ken hasn't edited it yet (he's sick as well), so I am relying on my own editing skills - hopefully it's not terrible!

Why don't you just wait to publish it til it's been edited? You may be asking...

Well, here's my wacky reasoning: Since I have published my other three books this year on the second of their respective release months, I want to stick with that for this book as well. I think that's an awesome thing to be able to say - four books in a year, all published on the second day of the month. Cool, right? I think so. Besides, I'm an editor as well, so I should be able to edit my own books as well. I simply feel better having fresh editing eyes going over it.

That's another thing I'm still wrapping my head around too, though - I've now published FOUR books this year!!

While I wrote the first book in 2014 and 2015, I WROTE THREE BOOKS this year, alone!

I'm pretty gosh darn proud of myself, tbh. *pats myself on the back*

All this to say, I will be sharing a release post for my new book this afternoon, once I'm sure it's all ready to go and readable on Kindle!

I will be waiting to upload the paperback version, simply because I do have far more formatting with that, before I can publish it. I automatically set up books to be formatting for Kindle from the get-go, so I can basically auto-publish them once they are ready. Makes Kindles easy, but paperbacks are far more work, and can't really be formatted from the start - at least, not the way I write.

SO! Once Ken's edited it, and given me the go-ahead, I will be releasing a paperback version as well!

NaNoWriMo 2016!!

Hiya guys & dolls, Happy November!! =D

I'm soooo glad it's finally here! November rocks anyway - it's one of my favorite months. Since starting a serious writing career, NaNoWriMo has made it even better!

That's not to say only serious writers do the writing competition, but for me, that's what it is - a way to challenge myself as a serious writer. I'm sure you knew that though, so I digress.

Obviously, I am participating this year. I'm looking forward to writing something new, now that the Swirling Secrets Trilogy is finished.

I have no idea what will come out of me this month, but I'm excited to find out!

At the moment, I'm planning on this novel being a stand-alone, and maybe comedy of some sort. I'm not sure quite yet - writing off-the-cuff is a challenge in that area, no knowing how to describe it or explain it. Still, it's the most fun for me, so booya!
