Writing & the Holidays

Hiya guys! Happy December!

For those of you who celebrate the Holiday season this month, you'll know how difficult it is to fit things like writing or creating in with all the hoopla. In our house, the Christmas season is our favorite time of year, and we love getting into all the fun traditions!

So, because of that, I haven't been writing much. I have made some progress though, which is more than I thought I'd do!

From my 30+ story ideas waiting to be written, I've narrowed down what I want to write to two ideas! Once things settle down a bit, all I have to do is pick one of those two, and get to work!

I'm looking forward to writing again, and I do miss it. The break is worth it, and is probably good for me to take a step back.

Come January, I'll be a writing machine! =D

I hope you are all having a fantastic month, and ending the year on a fantastic note!

"Desi Pere" Now PERMA-FREE!!

Hiya guys!

I was going through my posts today, planning out some for the next few months, and realized I never made a post about this!

I asked for help to get Desi Pere perma-free, and it worked!! You all helped so much with that, and I'm so excited about it! I know I put a post on Facebook thanking people there, but I really wanted to put a thank you up here, as well.

SO! In case you haven't picked up a copy, now's the perfect time! It's free, and a great chance to explore the first book in my Swirling Secrets Trilogy!

Check it out, and please be sure to leave a review if you read it! =D

Will she see through the web society has spun around her, or fall captive to century-old lies? In her search for the truth, she discovers she cannot find what she seeks, without first becoming herself, accepting her inner strength, and embracing her bizarre life...

New Novel!!

Hiya peeps!!

I'm so excited today! I know I have literally been silent for an entire month, but for good reason!

As most of you know, I participated in NaNoWriMo last month. I had several things challenge my writing time, such as a couple weeks of a few pets dying, which took their toll. Once I had composed myself from that, I had a week where I ended up getting sick, bad enough to keep me in bed. I'm not someone who can write/create well when I'm that sick, so I wasn't able to do much in that week. When I was better from that, it was Thanksgiving, and family time.

So really, I wrote this book in three and a half days. Less than four days!! I'm so friggin' proud of myself!!

I won NaNoWriMo (reached the 50K word goal), in less than four days, with more challenges than I would have thought possible. Booya, baby!

If there wasn't any other signs that I'm supposed to do this with my life, that is definitely one for me to hold onto.

Anyway, I'm back, and ready to publish this sucker!

At the moment, Ken hasn't edited it yet (he's sick as well), so I am relying on my own editing skills - hopefully it's not terrible!

Why don't you just wait to publish it til it's been edited? You may be asking...

Well, here's my wacky reasoning: Since I have published my other three books this year on the second of their respective release months, I want to stick with that for this book as well. I think that's an awesome thing to be able to say - four books in a year, all published on the second day of the month. Cool, right? I think so. Besides, I'm an editor as well, so I should be able to edit my own books as well. I simply feel better having fresh editing eyes going over it.

That's another thing I'm still wrapping my head around too, though - I've now published FOUR books this year!!

FOUR books in 2016!!

While I wrote the first book in 2014 and 2015, I WROTE THREE BOOKS this year, alone!

I'm pretty gosh darn proud of myself, tbh. *pats myself on the back*

All this to say, I will be sharing a release post for my new book this afternoon, once I'm sure it's all ready to go and readable on Kindle!

I will be waiting to upload the paperback version, simply because I do have far more formatting with that, before I can publish it. I automatically set up books to be formatting for Kindle from the get-go, so I can basically auto-publish them once they are ready. Makes Kindles easy, but paperbacks are far more work, and can't really be formatted from the start - at least, not the way I write.

SO! Once Ken's edited it, and given me the go-ahead, I will be releasing a paperback version as well!

Excited to share this book with you. Stay tuned!

NaNoWriMo 2016!!

Hiya guys & dolls, Happy November!! =D

I'm soooo glad it's finally here! November rocks anyway - it's one of my favorite months. Since starting a serious writing career, NaNoWriMo has made it even better!

That's not to say only serious writers do the writing competition, but for me, that's what it is - a way to challenge myself as a serious writer. I'm sure you knew that though, so I digress.

Obviously, I am participating this year. I'm looking forward to writing something new, now that the Swirling Secrets Trilogy is finished.

I have no idea what will come out of me this month, but I'm excited to find out!

At the moment, I'm planning on this novel being a stand-alone, and maybe comedy of some sort. I'm not sure quite yet - writing off-the-cuff is a challenge in that area, no knowing how to describe it or explain it. Still, it's the most fun for me, so booya!

Anyone else participating in NaNoWriMo this year? What are you writing?

Feel free to add me as a writing buddy on the website:

Good luck to everyone participating!

I've Been A Little Quiet...

Hiya guys! Roze here, with a Friday update. Happy Halloween Weekend! =D

I haven't put up a post in several weeks, which is terrible.

I've been pursuing some new hobbies, and it has taken up quite a bit of my time. Those are going well, and I will have updates on that sometime soon - still tweaking everything, so it's not quite ready to share yet. I'm so excited about it though, and it's been so much fun! Such wonderful learning opportunities.

Past that, this past week, I have been down with the flu. I've barely been able to stay awake, and can't even really walk around my house without getting nauseous and dizzy. Not fun!

I've taken a week of bed-rest to recover, which goes against my normal habits and personality completely. But, I want to be over this stupid bug before NaNoWriMo, so it's worth it. Hopefully.

Anyway, Prae Lium is doing well so far, so that's awesome!! The whole trilogy is doing well, really. I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who's read any of the three books - you rock!

Anyway, not much else to update, yet. I'll be posting again soon, with some fun updates, so be sure to watch out for those! =D

Perma-Free! NEED HELP!

Hiya guys!

So the surprise I mentioned in my last post, has a snag I didn't realize.
I had planned to put "Desi Pere" as perma-free on Amazon. I failed to research it first though, and assumed I'd simply be able to change the price to $0.00 and call it good.

Whoops!

Amazon doesn't work like that - they want to make some sort of money.
*face palm*

So! I have listed it as free on Smashwords. I also updated it to free in B&N, although it hasn't updated yet - not sure how long that takes.

For those of you familiar with how Amazon perma-free works, you know what help I'm talking about. Basically, lots of people go to the book's page on Amazon, and let them know of a lower price. If we can get that done, then the first book in the Swirling Secrets trilogy will be free, foreva!! Whoot! =D

I would love to see that happen guys - I have wanted it free since I decided to turn it into a trilogy, and wanted to have it happen today.
I feel awkward asking for help, but I would appreciate it so much!

If you wouldn't mind, simply follow the links, and down under the book rankings in the info section, the option to "let us know of a lower price" should be available. It is listed as free on Smashwords, so simply enter that link, enter the prices as 0.00, and submit!

Thank you so much!! :D

Until it updates as free, I will be lowering the price to $0.99 - the lowest they'll let me.

Can't wait to see it as free everywhere!

"Prae Lium" is LIVE!

I'm so excited today, guys! It's live, worldwide!

Amazon rocks, doesn't it? =D

I'll be sharing another surprise with you guys later tonight or tomorrow, which I'm equally excited about!

For now though, I'm marveling in the fact I've got a whole trilogy published, out in the world. Happy Monday, y'all ;)

It's In Review!!

Hiya guys, happy Saturday!!

I'm so excited today, because I finished the cover design for Prae Lium! It's just about ready to publish!

I also submitted it for review in CreateSpace (publisher for Amazon, for paperback copies), so once it's approved, I can order a proof copy!

If it's all lookin' good, I can set the release date for October 3rd!! Booya!! So excited!!

I'll let you guys know if it's approved, and when I order a proof copy!

TGIF Peeps!!

Hiya guys!! It's finally Friday - whoot!! It's so nice being on a Monday - Friday schedule now. Fridays actually mean something, and I can be excited for the weekend - whoot!

What are you guys doing this weekend? Anything fun planned? If not, be sure to fit some fun in there! =D

This week has been so emotional! I spent a few days fighting off a flu bug, which made me feel behind, and overwhelmed. There is so much to do right now, and I always seem to get sick right when I need to not be sick. Probably because I work myself too hard for too long, and by the time the final rush hits, I'm down! haha Oh well.

Anyway, I got over it enough to get back to work, and have finished up everything I hoped to do this week!

I'm so excited, and having it on Amazon is the other half of what's so emotional. Come October 3rd, I will have published an entire trilogy, in one year. Having a trilogy published is such a "wow" moment on it's own, but then realizing I've done it all in one year, kind of blows my mind.

Like, "did I really do that? How?"

I'm so stoked though, because now that that's out, I can focus on marketing it. And really, I can focus on starting some of my other projects! I'm so excited to get going on my other books.

I hope you'll keep following me on this journey, and if you haven't already done so, be sure to pick up a copy of Prae Lium on Amazon! If you haven't read the first or second books yet, you can pick up copies of those as well, and get all caught up on this adventure!

Thanks a ton - you guys rock!

Off to the Editor!

Oh my gosh you guys, I'm so stoked!! I finished writing "Prae Lium" tonight!!!

It isn't as long as I wanted, but the story is finished, and that's what matters. It's long enough to make me happy - more than 50k words, split into 20 chapters.
I can definitely live with that!

It's ready to go to the editor!! I'm so lucky that is Ken, because he is stupid quick, and will have this baby edited and ready for the final read-through this weekend!!

Publishing this thing October 3rd, if God keeps blessing it this way!

Whoot!!

Ciao for now, I'm off to celebrate!

"Prae Lium" is a Novel!

Hiya guys! Hope you're all doing well. Whatchya up to this weekend?

I've been writing my butt off this past week - having the guys work a steady schedule has helped a ton, and I've gotten into a good rhythm! I've been writing most of today, which has been awesome. I wanted to write a quick update though, since I've hit a good spot to take a break.

After all the drama circling book three in the Swirling Secrets series, Prae Lium is finally at 40k words!

From everything I can see, 40k> is considered a novel. Some places, like NaNoWriMo, require more, and others require less, but most seem to agree on 40.

I figure this book will be somewhere around 55-60k or so, when I'm finished. Should end up around 22-23 chapter or so, roughly 200 pages I think, depending on the format.

I'm hoping to have it finished next week sometime - whoot!

I'm still shooting for an October 3rd release date, and will be sharing more about that in the next few weeks.

So excited! =D

If you haven't read Sospi Tare yet, you've still got a few weeks! ;)

Wish me luck, and have a fantastic weekend!

Rave Review for Desi Pere!

Hiya guys! I just had to share this with you. On Sept 3rd, a reader left a fantastic review for "Desi Pere" on Amazon!

I'm so humbled by this review. It's not someone I know, I don't even know who it is. They review books often, but are simply listed as an "Amazon Customer." Whoever it is, they've nearly brought me to tears with their words.

Here's what they said:

"Creative, Adventurous - Fun!

Entertaining, quirky, creative, and adventurous – this book is a lot of fun. Full of excitement and antics (I love how the character Magnhild thinks and reacts), any book that makes me laugh aloud more than a handful of times gets a high rating on my scale. The freak’s special powers are cool. I also enjoyed the “tension” developing between Magnhild and Breasal. This novel is an “X-Men meets Dr. Evil” kind of young adult paranormal adventure."

Wowza!! I'm just blown away, and completely stoked about this.

I want to end this story perfectly, and this review is a wonderful boost to my spirit.

Thanks a ton, reviewer, you rock! =D
